The collaboration between AlphaTauri and Matthias Dandois is grounded in a shared approach to image and design. Style and visual expression – on and off the bike – are central to how Dandois rides and develops his projects, influencing everything from the lines he chooses to the way each scene is framed. This perspective sits naturally alongside AlphaTauri’s focus on clean silhouettes, technical fabrics and a contemporary aesthetic.

As the first expression of this partnership, Dandois’ project “Cold Was The Ground” brings this outlook to life. Shot on the Haven Islands in northern Sweden, the film is set under Arctic light in the vast silence of Nordic landscapes where temperatures drop far below zero. In this extreme environment, Dandois takes on an unusual challenge: riding BMX on a completely frozen lake and putting AlphaTauri’s design philosophy – uniting precise design with purposeful function – to the test. The project will also be released as a short film, to be submitted to outdoor film festivals during 2026.

“Riding on a frozen lake is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in BMX. Everything slides, everything becomes unstable. And at the same time the ice is constantly cracking under you. It really feels like you’re riding on something alive,” explains Matthias Dandois.

With Cold Was The Ground, AlphaTauri and Matthias Dandois open a new chapter of collaboration driven by exploration, innovation and creativity. As the partnership continues to evolve, Dandois will also feature as a model in AlphaTauri’s Autumn–Winter 2026 campaign, shot on location in Hokkaido, Japan, going live in August 2026.
