For Tom, who grew up kitesurfing with his family in Exmouth, UK, kiteboarding was more than just a sport—it was a way of life. “For me, it was about being able to do whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted,” he explained.
“That could mean catching the perfect wave, finding the right wind, or just having the gear that lets me do it all. It’s about staying ready for the moment.”
Lasse’s story was similar. Growing up on the Dutch coast of Noordwijk, he transitioned from windsurfing to kiteboarding in his teens and turned professional in 2015.
“For me, it was about saying yes to opportunities like this,” he said, referencing the Alaska shoot. “Whether it’s riding powerful winds or shooting in freezing conditions, it’s about staying prepared and in control.”
