When AlphaTauri heads into Namibia’s vast desert with two Red Bull athletes for a
campaign shoot, a simple production becomes a story about movement and identity.
Under the Namibian sun, free-running pioneer Jason Paul and snowboarder Leon Vockensperger show
how travel, style, and sport can merge into something deeply personal – a way of seeing, feeling, and
belonging.
For Jason, the desert isn’t just a backdrop; it’s a living playground. After nearly 20 years of
parkour, new environments still reset his imagination. “I really feel grateful for the opportunity to travel,
because it does give me a lot of inspiration,” he says from the shade between shots. “I love coming to a new place
and soaking in all the new impressions.
”He moves through the world as if he’s already framing the next
scene. “I look at the world around me in a cinematic way,” he explains. “It turns walking through any space into a
creative exercise.” What started in his teens as pure athletic challenge has shifted into something more inward.
Now, it’s about expression – returning to the same setup and still finding a new way to move through it.
Leon, who divides his time between sand dunes and snowy slopes, is driven by a sense of
gratitude and connection. “To be able to travel the whole world because of snowboarding is a huge privilege,” he
reflects. “I’ve seen places I’d never have reached otherwise – and that’s something I’m truly grateful for.” If
there’s one place that feels like a compass point, it’s Australia: the start of the season in August, his best mates
around him, and an energy he calls “just unmatched.”
Community and creative freedom tie their stories
together. Jason often returns to Paris, parkour’s birthplace – “a playground of brutalist architecture and beautiful
chaos” – and a symbol of the rooftop-and-underground freedom that now drives his next project: a parkour film
spanning Vietnam, Paris, and Japan. Leon looks ahead to the Olympics, but that first run back on his snowboard each
season still means just as much.
In Namibia’s sun-drenched landscapes, AlphaTauri’s designs meet the real
lives of athletes who move – and dress – with intention. Here, performance becomes personal narrative: movement as
energy, style as language, and every journey a chance to create a shared story.
