Camo & Krooked: Style Meets Sound
From performing on iconic stages like Tomorrowland to pioneering Red Bull Symphonic, Austrian electronic duo Camo & Krooked – Reinhard Rietsch and Markus Wagner – have spent nearly two decades redefining drum & bass. Known for their innovative approach and ability to merge genres, the duo has become key figures in the global music scene, pushing boundaries in sound, creativity, and style.

Since their beginnings in 2007, Camo & Krooked have crafted a sound that is both cinematic and kinetic – pulsing with energy while remaining deeply personal. “For us, it's about the emotions plus the energy,” says Camo. Their approach broke traditional boundaries, favouring smoother drops and intense build-ups that set them apart from their peers.
With lives built around travel and movement, their fashion style has evolved alongside their lifestyle. “It's always changing,” Camo explains. “But it's mostly smart casual and a little bit sporty. There always needs to be some skate style in it for sure.”

In 2020, Camo & Krooked embarked on one of their most ambitious projects: collaborating with Christian Kolonovits and a 70-piece orchestra to create a drum & bass concert unlike anything seen before – what would become the first-ever Red Bull Symphonic. “It was the only time in our career where, for me personally, I thought, it doesn't get any better than this. Musically, it's the most challenging thing we've ever done,” Krooked shared. Their collaboration with composer and arranger Christian Kolonovits brought classical orchestration together with contemporary electronic beats in a groundbreaking live performance. “If we’re going to do this, we can only do it with Red Bull,” Camo recalled.
To mark the 200th anniversary of Johann Strauss II, Red Bull Symphonic returned to Vienna this year with Camo & Krooked, Christian Kolonovits and the Wiener Symphoniker. The show combined music and visuals to take the audience on a unique journey. It began with the first rapprochement of the two styles and ended with a perfect fusion of classical and electronic music. Once again, the performances, celebrating the works of the “Waltz King,” played to packed houses.
From classical concert hall to caves and hot air balloons, their creative journey has taken them to unusual locations over the course of their career - blending sound, culture, and experience. “You're not just creating music; you're creating moments,” says Camo.

Whether through their music, style, or adventures, Camo & Krooked continue to push boundaries, shape culture, and inspire.
